This Manatee image was awarded a gold medal in the 2019 Smethwick International Salon. It was one of my favourite images from 2019 & was taken in February at Crystal River, Florida, USA. Manatees are really big creatures but they are so friendly & gentle. It was a really humbling experience to interact with them tbh & that makes this award all the more special.
